Fabric items, damaged pieces, or anything with loose stones or worn claws. We also avoid ultrasonic cleaning on softer and organic gemstones - emeralds, pearls, turquoise, coral, opal, moonstone, mother of pearl, and shell - as well as stones with open backs, glued settings, or resin fillings. For these, we'll recommend a gentler hand-cleaning service instead.

Our polishing machine is suitable for a range of jewellery and metals, provided the item is in good condition and meets the polishing requirements. Items that can generally be polished include silver, yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum pieces. Jewellery must have secure stones, a smooth surface suitable for polishing, and should not be heavily tarnished or damaged before proceeding.

The polishing machine should not be used on gold plated, white gold, silver plated, brass, or costume jewellery items. Jewellery with loose gemstones, damaged claws, porous materials such as pearls or opals, heavily scratched surfaces, or chain-style pieces should also be avoided, as polishing may cause damage or further wear.
